Troop 787 is chartered by the Men's Fellowship of the San Luis Rey Valley United Methodist Church and is in the Santa Margarita District of BSA's San Diego-Imperial Council. Located in Oceanside, California, we're one of the oldest Troops in San Diego county and have been going strong ever since our founding over 82 years ago.  We meet every Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm (except for a fifth Tuesday of the month) at the San Luis Rey United Methodist church, 5570 Old Ranch Rd in Oceanside. (map here)  Guests and visitors are ALWAYS welcome!

Boy Scouting is for boys 11 - 18 years old and have completed the fifth grade or Cub Scouts (Webelos) who are at least 10 years old and have completed the Arrow of Light requirements.  Would you like to learn more?  Take a look at "What is Boy Scouting," this webpage from the National BSA Council will tell you all about our aims and methods.  If you have other questions, please feel free to contact our Scoutmaster, Dave Hamilton, for more information.  You can also check our current Troop Calendar to see what we've been doing and what we have planned!

Older boys and girls who are at least 14 years old or are 13 years old and have completed the 8th grade are able to join our Venture Crew.  This is for high adventure activities.  You can see our Crew Activities on ourTroop Calendar.  You can contact our Crew Advisor, Mark Grenda, for more information.

Younger boys in the first through fifth grades may be interested in joining Cub Scouts, in that case take a look at Cub Scout Pack 787.
